The story of Raiwind Palace -------!
Nawaz
Sharif's residence in Lahore is called Raiwind Palace . It is named after Nawaz Sharif's
mother.
The
Round Palace covers 1700 acres or 13600 kanals
(more than 25000 kanals if the adjoining land is included). A special gate has
been built to go here on which the names of Nawaz Sharif's mother Begum Shamim
Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz are engraved in large letters. The royal
residence includes 3 kitchens, 3 drawing rooms, a swimming pool, a fish farm, a
small zoo and a lake. The land that Mian Sharif bought in this area was
equipped with modern facilities by spending money from the national treasury.
The
residence employs about 1,500 employees with a total monthly salary of crores
of rupees.
When
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif became the Prime Minister for the second time, he
paid special attention to the construction and renovation of Raiwind Palace .
The construction work (FWO) was assigned to the Frontier Works Organization and
orders were issued to complete the work on an emergency basis.
Immediately
after coming to power for the second time, Nawaz Sharif gave Raiwind's
residence the status of Prime Minister's Camp Office
and thus obliged the federal agency PWD to pay all the expenses of this
residence and development projects went. In addition to the Prime Minister's Camp Office ,
the PWD was required to pay a large sum of money to the adjoining Prime
Minister's residence and the residences of his relatives.
In
this regard, an article was published in the British newspaper Sunday Times in
which it was written that Nawaz Sharif's property spread over thousands of
acres in Raiwind is an unwarranted display of his wealth by a person who owns
the poor. He came to power in February 1997 with a life-changing mandate. The
Sharif family bought Raiwind land for Rs. 13 crore.
Earlier,
on July 26, 1992, a royal decree was issued from Islamabad . This decree was addressed to the
Commissioner Lahore Division. With this decree, the Prime Minister's
Secretariat released Rs. 5 crore from the exchequer to the Commissioner Lahore
to improve the condition of the road connecting Lahore to this magnificent residence in the
Sharif family's roundabout. Soon after, another order was issued and more money
was released. This time the order for Commissioner Lahore was to construct
another road which would pass between Ittefaq Complex and Ittefaq Farm and an
additional Rs. 149 million was paid for this project.
As a very early step, PWD sent a summary of Rs. 8 crore to the
Prime Minister's house for the renovation of the residences and the Prime
Minister's Camp Office ,
which was approved in a few moments and reached the Ministry of Finance.
Development work on the royal residence had begun in the next 24 hours. It was
in a way an open aggression by the Prime Minister's House because according to
state laws no permanent construction can be done on a camp office but all
these laws And the rules were trampled.
Sui
Northern Gas later received orders from Sharif Farm through a royal decree. The
first order was that the said department should immediately connect the main
gas pipeline to Sharif Farm and there should be no delay in this work. Special
arrangements were made on this occasion to ensure that the gas supply to
someone else Connection not provided. Locals tried to take advantage of the
facility but their requests were turned down. According to a conservative
estimate, the installation of the gas pipeline cost the national exchequer Rs.
gone.
The second phase was started by thePunjab
government after receiving huge sums of money from the federal departments.
Prepare a foot carpeted road that runs through the middle of Sharif Farm.
Immediately after the huge expenditure, following the order of the Chief
Minister, the District Council constructed a magnificent road. After this
another order was issued according to which the District Council Lahore
extended the road from Ada Plot Raiwind to Sharif Farm on both sides of the
canal to Sharif Farm. At Raiwind Farm, the development work for the farm
continued only at the expense of the national exchequer, but the nearby
villages were completely neglected. Only Rs. 32 crore was spent on the roads
constructed to connect Sharif Farm with various major roads. However, there
were no brick roads in the adjoining villages and the poor farmers were forced
to take their agricultural produce to the market through unpaved roads. They
were not given connections to the main gas pipeline coming to Sharif Farm and they
were not given electricity connections.
A scheme calledJubilee
Town was announced on
thousands of acres along Sharif Farm. Although the Johar Town Scheme and
Sabzazar Scheme announced by the Punjab Government have not been completed yet,
the Jubilee Town was planned only because the Sharif
family bought the land at very low rates and got the development work done from
the state exchequer. Billions of rupees should be earned by including it in Jubilee Town .
A total of 80 villages were shut off for this grand project. On the orders of Mian Sharif, the part of Bacha Kahna canal that runs through Sharif Farm was paved with great beauty and skill on both sides of the canal and according to a conservative estimate, Rs. 80 million was spent on this work from the national exchequer. The second department was for the local staff of Anhar, to whom the Chief Minister sternly said that the local landowners would no longer be able to get water from this beautiful paved canal. Farmers were prevented from taking water.

As
a result, their crops dried up and their cattle ran out of water. When the
local farmers wanted to protest against this oppression, the Punjab
police were ordered to attack them and they repaired the poor unarmed farmers.
It should be noted that before this royal decree, 80 local villages used to get
water from this canal and millions of acres of land were irrigated from it.
